As 2012 nears its close, let’s all be mindful to not drink and drive. Let’s enjoy all of the festivities but in moderate taste.
Thanksgiving is past and Christmas is only a few weeks away. All the kids are expecting goodies that only loved ones can give. Say a prayer for those in need, ie hurricane Sandy victims and the like, donate toys and/or food to the less fortunate. But most of all give God thanks for all the wonderful things He has done for you in the year 2012. xoxoxoxoxo
I would be surprised if the fiscal cliff did not take place.
I am fully aware of my non-posts on this subject for some time. Please forgive me. However, I have been avidly following the politics of our country via MSNBC. To briefly sum up the events, President Obama won the election on November 6, 2012, with 332 electoral votes to Mitt Romney’s 206 electoral votes. And what’s more, the Republicans and all their rich constituents still don’t or won’t accept the defeat. The Democrats spanked those Republicans quite well. One moment the media said not sure of the winner in the state of Ohio and before I could post it onto Facebook, it was a clear cut victory for our POTUS, Barack Obama. What an awesome victory. But the work doesn’t stop at the win, we have only just begun to fight for the rights of all the American people, especially the middle-class and disadvantaged.
During the latter part of November 2012,George Zimmerman, Trayvon’s murderer, was finally charged with 2nd degree murder. What a sigh of relief we felt as a country. It has taken the authorities months and months to bring the charge or at least to tell the American public what Zimmerman is charged with.
So looking forward to the trial taking place. At this point, the judge has barred the cameras, however, that could change between now and actual trial.
The good thing to remember is that we African Americans have not forgotten the situation at hand and we do await true justice.
